This day started early. At 5 A.M., several students left with Fullmer Sensei to begin their first spiritual experience of the day, which included meditating with a very agressive monk. While they were out seeking enlightenment, however, the rest of us had a patriotic start to our day, witch consisted of the Canadian National Anthem and a mismatched breakfast of bananas, eggs, and yogurt.
Once everybody was back at the house, we pulled ourselves together, mounted up, and pushed out to church, with the exception of a few. We missed the way a couple of times, but made it to the church. Keeping up with the lessons was a challenging, however rewarding experience.
After the meetings, our schedule was clear for personal exploration. I stayed behind with my group to prepare lunch.
We did not prepare lunch.
Because of how late we left church, there was no way we could have had food ready at a reasonable lunch time. Everybody else went out to explore while we cooked.
We finished making the yakisoba at around 4:00 and waited for the others to return. We waited for a long time. It was after 8:00 when people started getting back. We just called it dinner at that point.
Later that night a handfull of us went out to end the day some sparklers to celebrate Canada Day.
